The Library is thrilled to be bringing to you a comprehensive Writing Guide that will assist in every aspect of your writing from drafting a proposal, an essay, an argumentative paper to composing a research thesis, an analysis, a group report.
The Writing Guide will address among others, academic writing and referencing, two of the most often requested workshops from students. After a painstaking search, the Library has found the ultimate, essential, one-size-fits-all, one-stop shop Writing Guide.

Published in December 2021, the Writing Guide is
compiled by lecturers and authors from various fields who are keen to help
students navigate the sometimes arduous and often challenging process of scholarly
writing. The book contains 20 chapters that address areas of writing for the Digital
World, Evaluations and Reviews, Problems and Solutions, Case Studies, Online
Media, Proposals,, Analytical Reports, Arguments and Research, It also discusses
the topics of Critical Thinking and Planning in the writing process.
Each chapter includes works from writers of different backgrounds, time periods, and perspectives. The book draws on student experiences in writing and communication. Student engagement in the classroom as well as their interactions with social media are highlighted.

The Writing Guide will show you how to construct
compelling compositions in a wide array of formats and situations. It touches
on cultural and language awareness, and
information and media literacy.
The book will help you prepare for writing assignments of various genres and disciplines. You will learn strategies, using graphic, samples and models in planning and drafting. Learning outcomes are stated and reinforced so that you know if you are hitting the marks.

The Writing Guide is a free, open educational
resource from Openstax, a nonprofit educational technology initiative from Rice
University. The book is openly licensed and available in free digital formats
and PDF.
